Beautiful, historic home - Cheshire

We live in a lovely, unique, two-storey house, located near the Cheshire and Welsh border in a quiet hamlet. The house is located in a small development of ten grade II-listed houses. Our home, called `The Clock House` was, until its conversion in 2003, was part of the Duke of Westminster`s estate.

The house has an entrance hall with fireplace. In addition there are two reception rooms; one with access and views of the garden and covered patio area, the other a cosy lounge area with stone fireplace. Also, there is a large kitchen/diner with patio doors leading onto the garden. From the kitchen there is also a utility room ( including washing machine and drying facility ) and a study room. There is a guest WC and shower on the ground floor.

Upstairs, consists of three large double bedrooms ( two with king-size beds ), the master with en-suite bathroom including a shower and a dressing room. There is also a family bathroom with large bath.

The house has underfloor heating on both levels and has TV and phone points in all rooms. There is satellite TV and Broadband/WiFi available throughout. Externally, there is a lovely rear garden with lawn and borders with flowering shrubs and gated access to communal courtyard area with parking.

About the location

Our home is located in the hamlet of Cuckoo`s Nest, near to Pulford and four miles from Chester. There is an excellent regular bus service into Chester and Wrexham with train connections onto Liverpool ( 45 minutes ), Manchester ( 1 hour ) and London ( 2 hours 10 minutes ). There is easy access within one mile to the regional motorway network leading to North Wales to the West, Liverpool, Manchester and the Lake District.

In the near locality there are a number of gastro-pubs and restaurants and local shopping amenities. Within 5 miles, in addition to central Chester, there is a major shopping complex with cinema and several restaurants.

Chester is a historic town, with roman ruins including amphitheatre and city walls and a central area with properties from the middle ages. Chester is on the River Dee and has a beautiful racecourse with regular meetings during the summer months. Also, Chester is on the Shropshire Union canal with access to North Wales and Midlands by barge. During the summer there is open air theatre and cinema within the ancient Roman city walls at the beautiful Grosvenor Gardens. Chester will also boast a new cultural centre, including theatre and arts cinema from late 2017.

The house is an ideal base for walking and enjoying the countryside. Within an hour`s drive you can be in the mountains of Snowdonia, the Lake District, the Peak District and the beaches of North Wales.
