Large Victorian terraced house, short walk from the beach and historic city centre - central Brighton

Our family of 8 lives in a large terraced maisonette, built in 1885, a ten-minute walk from Brighton`s busy city centre. The street is quiet and residential, despite its central location.

The house is Victorian with many original features and an extended conservatory dining room. It is nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. It is light and airy with high ceilings and big windows.

The kitchen is fully equipped and wells stocked as we love to cook. You would be welcome to use cooking ingredients.

We have a small, enclosed back garden which includes a pod (currently used as a bedroom by our teenage son), barbecue, outside table and chairs and a decking area.
The house has three bedrooms upstairs - one with a double and single bed, one with a double/single bunk and one with two singles, and one bedroom downstairs with a king-size bed.

There is a large bathroom with separate bath and shower and an extra loo.

If you needed to you could pull out the extra mattress in the attic for one more person.

We have a dog and you are welcome to bring yours. Almost everywhere in Brighton is dog-friendly, even cafes and restaurants.

Parking is on street. We can sort you out with daily parking permits.

We also have a decent, gym-quality cross-trainer in the house if you like to stay fit.

We have BT TV and stacks of DVDs and board games.

About the location

Brighton is London`s quirky seaside cousin known for its laid back atmosphere, famous historic, narrow maze of Lanes and independent boutiques. The seafront is bustling with shops, bars and seafood restaurants and there are many attractions within easy reach including the i360, Sealife Centre and famous Brighton Pier.

Brighton has theatres, including the opulent Victorian Theatre Royal, great music venues of all sizes and lots more in the way of culture, from the Pavilion, the Prince Regent`s magnificent Indian-style folly, to quirky museums and comedy clubs. We have the world`s oldest working cinema, The Duke of York, two minutes from our home.

Brighton Marina is a short bus ride away (or you can take the historic Volks electric railway along the seafront) and has a casino, ten-pin bowling, restaurants and a cinema.

If you don`t have a car, everything is easily reached by public transport.

The South Downs roll behind us and are a short walk (or bus ride) away. There is a train station a 2 minute walk up the hill which takes you direct to Falmer for Stanmer Park in 4 minutes. There are plenty of opportunities for cycling and hiking between the beautiful coastline and the South Downs National Park with lots of pretty villages and country pubs between.

It`s an hour on the very regular train service to central London and the smaller station up the road connects to Brighton.
There are food shops, including a lovely market, five minutes away from the house and several great pubs on our doorstep offering decent food, if you don`t feel like cooking, plus takeaways offering just about every cuisine imaginable.
